Athens, New York - we made it!

Monday, July 2nd, 2012

We are in upstate New York now with staying at my sister Barb's house.  It was nice to wake up this morning and be in a relax mode versus the mode of sightseeing or packing down and moving on.

We were on the road for 21 days straight.  We popped up and broke down the camper a total of 17 times....whew!  It will be nice to have a relaxing stay here.

We arrived here yesterday at 4pm.  The drive across Interstate 90 and then down Interstate 87 was nice and smooth.  When we took the thruway exit we had a hefty price tag of $21.35 for a toll!

After we arrived we set up the camper in Barb's driveway.  We will not be sleeping in it but we need to have it popped up for cleaning, etc.

We unloaded the van and placed our "outside the camper" stuff inside and/or under the camper.  I stripped the sheets off the bed so we could wash them.  Barb arrived home from work shortly after we got there.

After bringing in our suitcases and stuff we had a nice relaxing evening.  Barb had made pulled pork in the crock-pot and wow did it make the whole house smell delicious!  She also grilled corn in the husk right on the outside grill.  We had dinner on her back deck that overlooks a lake here.

After dinner we were talking for a bit on the back porch.  I started to feel tired and knew it had to be pretty late.  I looked at my watch and it was only 9:15pm.  I guess I am a bit road weary because I didn't make it much longer than that before heading off to bed.
