A Little History
| May of 2002 at Hillsborough River State Park |
Mostly we visit state parks in Florida. Our two favorites are Myakka River State Park & Oscar Scherer State Park. For the last two years we have added another weekend trip to Fort Desoto as well.
Also, each summer for 10 straight years we have taken a summer journey to the north Georgia mountains. We stay at Unicoi State Park and enjoy the amenities there as well as nearby Helen, Georgia. Our most favorite activity in Helen is tubing down the Chattahoochee River. At the time of this blog writing, a picture of Jen and the kids and our little camping poodle Baxter is featured on the Cool River Tubing Website. The picture is in the banner along the top and also a larger version comes up during the slideshow on the main page. That picture was taken in 2006, the first year that Cool River started taking pictures of the tubers. Here is the shot:

This Blog's For YOU! We hope you enjoy it.
We spent a large part of yesterday trying to settle on the best media and method of getting our story out there for our friends and family. We hope you like this Blog, because this is the one we eventually decided upon.
Each format has its pros and cons: Facebook is easy to use and the privacy controls are good, but not all of our audience is on Facebook, and it's not conducive to a blog format. We wanted this to be more of a diary with pictures than a place to park photos with little comments. We also looked at other blog sites, but since I had already created that really awesome photo banner, we stuck with this one.
Actually, this site works really well for you, the reader. You will be able to search the blog by date, location, or keywords. I think I can add a slideshow too, so you can flip through photos if you don't want to read the blog, but I'm still working on that.
So, we hope you enjoy reading about our journeys. This blog's for you.
P.S. Yesterday's blog shows that Ray wrote it, although it was actually written by me, Jenny. Ray created the map. (Great job, Sweetie!) I originally had all four of us lumped together as one "author" but I've now split us up so our stories are more clear. Two more authors will soon be added.
